 This property has 10 windows in serious need of refurbishment. Exterior pointing was defect and was letting water in. This mean’t that the water was beginning to rot the casements. All areas of rot have been attended to by our joiners and our painters will finish off all the paint works to the windows.

The pointing has now been renewed and now the existing sash windows will be completely weather sealed and draught-proofed for the on coming winter.

K Construction did a really good job of replacing my 160 year old window sashes with new double glazed units even though one window had a curved top.

The new windows slide really easily in the frames and the new brass hardware catches and pulley wheels are a major improvement. Your tradesmen worked late to finish the installation and left my flat very clean. I found it relatively easy to give the new windows and refurbished cases the final gloss painting.

On this property in the Colinton area of Edinburgh we upgraded 8 of the original Sash and Case windows to Double Glazing and installed our draught-proofing system. We also undertook all the painting work and renewed all of the exterior sandmastic.  As with all double glazed upgrades the original cast iron weights had to be upgraded with lead to ensure a perfect balance.

On this interesting project in the west end of the city, we have re-instated the sash and case windows back into the kitchen area at the back of the house. The original windows were in very poor condition indeed and in addition the stonework was also badly damaged. A replacement stone mullion was fitted (the piece in the centre of the two windows) prior to the fitting of the new windows.

A band of stone mastic applied between the window and the stone seals the new windows against any further water ingress.

On this property in the Shandon area of Edinburgh, we have supplied and fitted 24 new double glazed sash and case windows over three floors and refurbished the remainder. You can see the “St Andrews cross” which is formed when the sash rope is threaded through the new pulleys wheels prior to the new sashes being hung in place.
