Why Choose Edinburgh Sash and Case for Shutter Work

Many older shutters have been out of sight and out of action for decades. Painted shut or fixed in place, they can seem like they’ve vanished altogether – but with the right skills, they can be uncovered, repaired and returned to working order.

Our team has extensive experience dealing with original shutters in tenements and townhouses throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. We also offer our own traditional ironmongery, including back-flap hinges and shutter bars, and complete all finishing work in-house.

Whether you’re restoring one window or renovating an entire property, we’ll ensure the result is both beautiful and functional.

Gary of Almond Decorators has done a fantastic job with the paintwork on our new windows. He really went above and beyond. I would hire him again for any other decorating jobs.

We had 20 sash windows replaced and all of the cases refurbished in a B-listed building so this was a big job, the company was great to deal with and the entire team were respectful in our home, clear about what they were doing and did a fantastic job. Alan talked us through all the options before the job started and was really knowledgeable, Kevin and Jordan did a brilliant job on the windows and Gary and Derek from Almond Decorators made sure the finished windows looked amazing. It has made such a difference and I would highly recommend them all, thank you!

We ordered a new front door made from accoya wood, with an integrated double glazed narrow window light. The standard of the door is fantastic and we were equally impressed by the installation also. The fitter was polite, professional and made sure everything fitted correctly into the space and new frame. Very pleased with the workmanship. Thank you
