Discreet Light and Ventilation for Heritage Homes

Velux windows are a practical, discreet way to introduce light and ventilation into areas where traditional windows aren’t suitable. Often used in attic rooms, stairwells, bathrooms and rear extensions, they offer an effective solution for homes that need more natural light without compromising on appearance.

At Edinburgh Sash and Case, we supply and install Velux roof windows with the same care and finish as our sash and case work. And because we manage everything in-house, we can often have units measured, ordered and installed with a quick turnaround to suit the needs of your project.

Why Velux Windows Are a Useful Addition

Velux windows are often the best option for roof spaces or areas with limited wall openings. They’re especially useful for rear-facing elevations or modern extensions where sash and case windows aren’t appropriate.

In some cases, Velux installations are more permissible within conservation areas due to their low visual impact. Whatever the setting, we’ll make sure they’re installed neatly, finished cleanly, and integrated properly into the fabric of your home.

We had 20 sash windows replaced and all of the cases refurbished in a B-listed building so this was a big job, the company was great to deal with and the entire team were respectful in our home, clear about what they were doing and did a fantastic job. Alan talked us through all the options before the job started and was really knowledgeable, Kevin and Jordan did a brilliant job on the windows and Gary and Derek from Almond Decorators made sure the finished windows looked amazing. It has made such a difference and I would highly recommend them all, thank you!

Excellent communication, skilled and reliable service. Edinburgh sash and case completed the job ahead of time and to an excellent standard. Highly recommend them.

We ordered a new front door made from accoya wood, with an integrated double glazed narrow window light. The standard of the door is fantastic and we were equally impressed by the installation also. The fitter was polite, professional and made sure everything fitted correctly into the space and new frame. Very pleased with the workmanship. Thank you

We had 10 timber sash and case windows installed. They look lovely, and Gary from Almond Decorators did a great job painting in the colour we wanted and advising what paint to use on the outside to ensure that they were weather proofed. We had a small snag which Gary promptly came by to fix for us. Thank you!
