Edinburgh Sash and Case successfully undertook the task of refurbishing our windows. Ryan and Alex completed the joinery work efficiently and professionally and Scott did an excellent job with the paintwork. Our 176 year old windows, in a Grade 1 listed property, now open and close effortlessly and have a clean, sharp appearance. Very happy to recommend this company. Also, the office staff, especially Chantelle, were helpful and supportive,

Fantastic job done by Kevin and Jordan at Edinburgh Sash and Case. We had all of our windows completely renovated over a two week period and they did an excellent job throughout. Gary and Derek also did a top notch job of all the painting and finishing. Highly recommend ES&C to anyone looking to repair, renovate or replace their windows.

Experienced, skilful craftsmen are all too rare in today's world. Our project involved a Grade-B Listed Building in a Conservation Area so we were grateful that they dealt with the Planning dept for us. We greatly appreciated the decorators, Derek and Gary (Almond Decorators), who finished the job and worked patiently, skilfully and cleanly to finish the job to a very high standard.

Excellent work by Kevin and Jordon - fit our new windows and refurbished the shutters. Customer focussed and very skilled at their trade. I am so glad they were on this job as others haven’t been as professional in the past. Would definitely recommend these two joiners for future work.

Edinburgh Sash and Case have been replacing windows in an old house with double glazed, insulated, modern windows. The result is fantastic and has dramatically improved the energy efficiency of each room where they've installed. Adam, the joiner was brilliant and thorough and really thoughtful and professional. Almond Decorators were also professional and nice people and completed the job with a really smart finish. The whole team have been great from inception to completion.

From start to finish we have been well looked after by all at Edinburgh Sash and Case.
Our windows look and feel amazing now!
The painters are just finishing up, they’ve been a joy to have in the house, and have made the already beautiful windows really pop - great job, Gary!

Just had my 6 x 6 Georgian window refurbished in my 1st floor flat by Kev and Alex. Great communication from start to finish and they kept the mess down to a minimum with a thorough clean up when finished. The window is fully operational and I can’t wait to get them painted. Excellent craftsmanship and super friendly. Thanks guys!

I cannot commend Edinburgh Sash and Case enough for the wonderful new windows they fitted to my tenement flat last month. They are such a great improvement on the awful extruded aluminium windows that have been replaced. The joiner who fitted the windows was a true craftsman and a perfect gentleman, while Gary and his colleague from Almond Decorators made a superb job of painting the woodwork and shuttering. My home has been vastly improved by these traditional hardwood windows which are my pride and joy! I highly recommend Edinburgh Sash and Case for all your window needs.

I can highly recommend Edinburgh Sash & Case. The joiner Chris did a fantastic job. The painters Derek and Gary from Almond Decorators were equally superb. All was organised brilliantly by very efficient Danielle. The Director Nick Kimbell, our first contact, and the workshop manager Alan were incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable and trustworthy. Edinburgh Sash & Case has been a pleasure to work with. Thank you!

Also to the painters, that work solid for 2 days and a half.I highly recommend them.

Huge thank you to James and Pawel, for their first class joinery, and painting, installing new windows in my home this month. They were so helpful, and the new windows much needed, and completed to a really excellent standard.

I had waited many years to get wooden double glazing and restoring the casements to preserve the heartwood was a good choice really well done by a young team. Decorating by Gary Miller and Derek at Almond Decorators was top-notch and worth asking for them as part of the job spec. What a difference! A quality job!

Upgrade to four double-glazed sash windows in a conservation area for us. Edinburgh Sash and Case office were in good communication on the quote, gaining permission and preparation. Joiner Adam did a great job and so did Almond Decorators on the painting

Fantastic work done by the joiners James, Shaun & Ryan, work done to a very high standard at our house in Murrayfield replacing all our old and windows and doors. Additional work was required replacing fascias and external woodwork which was additional to the original quote but we added on to the job as an optional extra without any problems, everything was explained clearly from the start. Gary in Almond Decorating then did a great painting job and gave the windows an excellent finish.

Two years after the complete renovation of our bow window (still in splendid form), we called Edinburgh Sash and Case again to renovate the windows in the bathroom, scullery and kitchen. We're delighted by the result: the windows are absolutely beautiful, and the company made everything they could to accomodate our very strict timeline. The painters (Gary Miller and his associate at Almond decorators) deserve a special mention: they were fantastic (thank you once again). We're ready for winter!

This job went smoothly from start to finish - ordering and visiting the manufacturing site to choose finishes was interesting. Office very helpful about start dates and any questions - very prompt and efficient. Jack, Jordan and Callum were our joiners - they were friendly, polite and tidy and made a fantastic job. Paintwork by Gary and Derek is so nearty finished. Delighted with our new windows and getting them fitted -even in our main rooms - didn’t feel like a huge upheaval.

Jordan and Jack were great. Did a very high quality job on our 9 windows in a victorian double upper near Stockbridge, and in very good time. They communicated timelines very clearly and were always good to have around.
They even came early one day to say hello to our wee boy before he went to nursery because he was so curious about what they were doing.
Highly recommended!

Fantastic service from Edinburgh Sash and Case from start to finish. The team provided a very reasonable quote and were ready to start work within the month. Particular thanks to decorators Gary and Derek, friendly, always arrived on time, easily contactable, clean & tidy, very conscientious with great attention to detail. Would definitely recommend their services. Adam, the joiner, was great too, again always showed up on time, happy to answer any questions we had and provided a great service.

Delighted with our new windows. We went from having 26 years old windows that we couldn't safely open and therefore had difficulty cleaning so couldn't see through them well, that were draughty and would leak in a storm, to new shiny windows that we can open with a finger. The sound proofing is so much better, the draughts are no more and everything looks great. Communications were always prompt and to the point. Call out too to Chris who was the joiner that actually fitted the windows. He did a great job and was easy to deal with and cleaned up at the end of each day. The painters who came to do the finishing touches a few days later were great too. Replacing our windows in a conservation area was a long saga for us and we were let down by two other companies before approaching Edinburgh Sash and Case. Wood frame sash and case windows are not cheap but they made it very worth the expense. Thank you.

I was absolutely delighted with the quality of the window renovation work by Edinburgh Sash and Case. They look like brand new windows! Both sets of workmen - the joiners and the painters - were excellent craftsmen and went out of their way to ensure I was content with what they were doing and the tidy up at the end of the day. I recommend this company.

Jack and Jordan have just completed work to replace and upgrade our 6 sash windows to do be double glazed units. The pair were a great team, working co-operatively and efficiently at all times; they were unobtrusive in a busy house where there were, at times, 2 dogs and a toddler but remained cheerful and helpful at all times. The installation has gone to plan and we can already tell the difference in noise levels and lack of draughts!

We had a six-pane sash and case window whose lower rail was rotten. The frame and glass had to be replaced in their entirety. Edinburgh Sash and Case was a joy to work with. They were responsive, timely, and did excellent work. The quote was delivered the day after they visited to assess the situation, the work was done on time and done flawlessly. Everybody we dealt with was friendly, informed, honest, and accurate. We highly recommend them.

This company fitted our windows in 2018 and until we contacted them recently to advise that we had two blown windows we were satisfied.
Their response to our approach on this issue was "Can I just confirm, were these windows fitted by ourselves?" This from a director of the company.
No reply was received to our confirmation that this was indeed the case and we had to chase. We were then asked to complete a snagging link.
Under the scope of warranty shown on the link this states "The tradesperson will attend the property and attend to the reported issues. Any issues not covered by the guarantee will be charged at £0.96 per minute + VAT. Please note that if none of the issues are warranty repairs there will be an additional call out charge of £65 + VAT."
We found that their 7 year guarantee only covers standard double glazed units, which we thought we had, which have a sightline of approximately 11mm. However for low sightline units only a five year guarantee is offered and apparently we only have low sightline units.
As our original quotation did not mention anything to the effect that we were not purchasing standard double glazing units we questioned this and the response was :- "Low sight line units are any units in astragalled windows - it is only 1/1 style windows that have non low sight lines" Anyone who understands this response I suspect must be in the double glazing business.
We reverted again with the question as to why their quotation did not detail the poorer quality windows and simply refers to double glazed units, but this is not something that the company is prepared to answer.
Having paid in excess of £10,000 for two bay windows we would have expected these to last 20/25 years and not to expire within a seven year period.
The company did offer to provide us with a quotation for rectification but this is not something we will be taking up.
Unfortunately the double glazing industry is effectively unregulated and Edinburgh Sash & Case do not belong to any trade body which might arbitrate. Given the probable lack of repeat business their attitude appears to be "new customers only"
Anyone dealing with this company needs to consider the phrase caveat emptor.

From October 2019 - Just had five single pane windows upgraded to double glazing. The Listed Building Consent service was excellent and helped us get the permission we needed. All work completed to a very high standard. Thanks to Dougie and Michael (Team 5 joiners) plus Ryan and wee Joe (JB Painting). Highly recommended! Thanks again.

We had 11 new windows installed at the tail end of last year. Our main joiner was Kevin, supported later in the job by Daniel, who were great- they were also extremely neat, clearing up at the end of every day. After they were finished, the painters led by Gary Miller came in and ensured a great finish.
The process was, for us, very straightforward. Communications went well and the job started on the date agreed.
We are delighted with the results- after living here for 30 years, we can feel the real difference in warmth in the house.
